I’ve used this on and off for a couple months, but only for sharpening. One of my first moves was to adjust the metal plate under the belt by having the belt travel as close and parallel to it so the belt wouldn’t deflect and change the grinding angle.
The fixed angle is set to 15 degrees. This is perfect for utility and pocket knives.

I personally left the side attachment off cause some of the reviews of lack of power . I personally had no issues with it but I also let the machine do it job and not pressed hard on knife when sharpening. This definitely beats using a wet stone to get it knife sharp .
Just used it to sharpen my kitchen knives. Seemed to work ok. Put a nice sharp edge to everything. Would have been nice if a instruction sheet would have been included.

I love this sander. I purchased this belt sander for my ring making. It is small and so simple and easy to use. It’s a quick and easy way to smooth the edges of the rings I make out of spoons. So far it has been a great value for how much it cost. It seems to be quality and works well.
